Urban Decay Eyeshadow of the Day

Today I used only the Urban Decay Face Case. I am very pleased with the overall look I achieved.

I started with my primer followed by Polyester Bride under the brow and on the tear duct area.
Then I applied Midnight Cowboy on the lid and into the crease. I followed with Smog and blended.
I then used a small amount of Shotgun in the center of the lid to blend all colors together.

I finished with HIP black creme liner on the upper lash line and used a black pencil on the bottom lash line. I used a pencil brush to blend the pencil liner and create a more smoky look on the bottom lash line.
I applied CoverGirl VolumeExact mascara after curling my lashes. I hope you enjoy this look!

Eyeshadow of the Day!!

For the look today I started with primer and Mary Kay Moonstone on the entire lid. Then I used the green color in L.A. Colors palette "Tease" from the inner corner to the middle of the lid. I also applied some green to the lower inner lash line.

I followed that with the blue color from the same palette. I started from the outer corner and worked my way in until I met the green and blended them together.

I touched up the Moonstone and blended to create a more seamless look. I lined the upper and lower lash with Rimmel precision liner in Azure Shimmer.

I finished off the look by curling my lashes and applying CoverGirl VolumeExact in Black to the upper lashes.

I hope you enjoyed this look and thank you for reading this post. Remember comments/e-mails welcome at acaseofcosmeticevents@gmail.com !!

Eyeshadow of the Day

Today's eyeshadow of the day is not a typical look for me but I really wanted to try the HIP products I purchased. I started with Mary Kay primer followed by Mary Kay eyeshadow in Moonstone.

I then used HIP cream eyeliner in Black. This is the first time I have used a cream/gel liner so I fudged a few times. The good news is the liner doesn't wear off easily. The bad news it didn't wipe off easily when I made a mistake.

I applied HIP Pure Pigment Shadow Stick. This item was 75% off at CVS and I think I know why. The stick was very dry. I barely started using it and a big chunk crumbled off of it. I don't know if it is supposed to be this dry but I didn't like it very much. If the shadow stick was a little softer/creamier, not sure how to describe it, I would like this product a whole lot more.

To finish off the look I touched up my liner on the upper lash line and lined my lower lash line with a black pencil liner. I'm not sure exactly which one I used but I know I got it at Sally Beauty Supply. I also applied CoverGirl VolumeExact to my eyelashes. That the look for today. I have a bunch of other things to show you in the days to come.

I bought new products!

I went on a little beauty haul today at the local discount/drugstores. Over the next few days I will do an eyeshadow of the day with one or two of the products in each look. There is one brand I have never heard of so if you have any opinion on L.A. Colors please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Thanks. The eyeshadow of the day is coming up later today!

Eyeshadow of the Day

Many blogs offer a look of the day. I am going to change that up a little with an eyeshadow of the day. Today's eyeshadow of the day is very simple and subdued. I don't have the best lighting so I hope the photos are able to capture the look well enough.

I started with Mary Kay eye primer followed by Urban Decay eyeshadow in Polyester Bride which was applied to the whole lid. I then used Urban Decay Shotgun eyeshadow on the lid up to the crease. I then applied Jane black eyeliner on both the upper and lower lash line. I topped it off with CoverGirl VolumeExact in Very Black.

Urban Decay in the clearance bin??

Welcome all,

I will start this blog by telling you a tale of the best beauty buy i have made in a long time. I had just dropped the kiddo off at her first day of daycare and had some free time on my hands. I popped into Marshall's for the first time ever to see what it was like. Well I thought that Marshall's was ok but still a little pricey for me. Think $15 or less in the clearance section. Over by the dressing rooms I noticed a bin of clearance make-up. Always the thrifty shopper I couldn't resist a peek. Of all the things I expected to see Urban Decay cosmetics wasn't one of them. I was floored! I have been wanting to try Urban Decay for quite a long time. Plus it was a mirrored compact set of 9 shades. There was 4 of each eyeshadow and gloss and one of blush. The eyeshadow I was most excited to see was Smog. All of this for only $5.99. I also got a Hard Candy eyeshadow Caramel for $2.99. The best beauty purchases this year! The color payoff of the Urban Decay shadows was amazing. Much better than any of my other shadows. The payoff on the Hard Candy shadow was also better than most others. I will definately buy Urban Decay products again.

Thank you for reading and please comment on how I can make this a better blog.
